Honors 2B Independent Reading Requirements

During the month of April, you will be responsible for reading a book from an approved list and discussing it with a reading partner on the honors blog each week.

  • Over the weekend, your task is to find a student in a different honors section to be your reading partner. You and your partner should decide which book(s) from the approved list you are interested in and determine who will fill out this form claiming your book.
  • The form will be available to accept submissions at the link above starting at 5pm on Sunday, April 3. Once a book is chosen by a pair, it will no longer be available for other partners to choose. Therefore, it would be wise to have a backup plan in case the book you want is taken.
  • The book must be finished by Friday, April 29. You should work with your partner to determine a reading schedule for each week.
  • Two journal responses will be due each Thursday, as usual.
  • By each Monday, instead of responding to three other classmates, you will thoughtfully respond to each of your partner's journal responses. You are also REQUIRED to respond thoroughly to the comments your partner leaves you. The goal is to have a back-and-forth exchange / discussion between you and your partner.

Need a partner?
You can use the comments for this post as a message board to communicate with other honors students and find a partner.
